Depending on your use for the Rogue series scooters will dictate what controller you are likely to choose for the scooter. Below is a quick summary of the Pros and cons for both, however one is not really necessarily better than the other, it really comes down to what you require for your scooter

Motor Controller

Smooth Start

Smooth start controllers provide a more relaxed and controlled ride by allowing the power to the motor to be slowly engaged over time. This is great if you are planning on using the scooter around a lot of people at slows speeds, or on the golf course where having the greatest control is more warranted over fast acceleration.

Pros:

  • Smooth acceleration
  • More Control at lower speeds

Cons:

  • Slower Acceleration
  • Takes slightly longer to get up to full speed

Fast Start

Fast Start controllers come as standard on all our Rogue series scooters and provides full power right on take off. Great if you want the thrill of the acceleration that a electric motor can bring. However because the controller is fast start is makes it harder to control the scooter at lower speeds requiring more technique with the throttle. Some people have described the feeling as being "Jerky" or "abrupt". But this controller does really shine if power is what you want.

Pros:

  • Fast Take off
  • Gets to full speed quickly

Cons:

  • Harder to control at slower speeds / Requires a little more finesse with the throttle

Can you supply a smooth start motor controller for a scooter powered by a 48 volt 2000 watt motor with a lithium battery pack.
Thanks very much in anticipation of your answer.

Hey Kerry, we don’t currently sell the 48v 2000w controllers. We might be doing so in the future.
